Millennium National Aquatic Centre

Millennium National Aquatic Centre

We were approached during the construction stage to finalise the balustrading concepts for the National Aquatic Swimming Centre.

Glass balustrades were chosen for ease of view from the seating and brushed aluminium handrails added for a contemporary finish.

Matching custom made handrails were used on the glass balustrading for the stairs throughout the upper floor in the building.

Clean lines and powder coat finishes on the paintwork provide very low maintenance up-keep.

The Millennium Centre prides itself on Excellence in setting standards and then exceeding them. Argon Construction chose FGS to fabricate their metalwork in keeping with the excellent standards.

We take care with the finer details of your Metalwork needs – drawings done in CAD by our design team when required. We also custom make cages, ladders, stairs and can
supply any structural steel for your next building project.

Haydn & Rollett commissioned FGS Metalwork to fabricate boundary fencing and balustrades for their project in North Shore City.

The stone pillars were finished by a qualified team of stone masons, then FGS made and installed the metalwork.

FGS also installed metal covers to conceal the air conditioning ducting on the private balconies.

The balustrades for each apartment were designed and installed by different members of our team.

Security gates with key code entry and safety photo beams were fabricated in our Silverdale workshop and then installed on site.

Te Ara Tahuna Estuary Cycleway + Walkway

Te Ara Tahuna Estuary Cycleway + Walkway

The 7.5km Orewa Estuary cycle and wallkway crosses 5 bridges and was a Rodney District Council legacy project which was completed by the Auckland SuperCity Council.

Te Ara Tahuna opened in December 2011 and connects some of Orewa’s newest areas with the Hibiscus Coast beaches, community facilities and the expanding residential areas. FGS Metalwork was approached to manufacture balustrades for the Orewa Cycleway Bridge which was being constructed by the Warehine Group.

FGS Metalwork worked closely with engineers from Hutchinson Consultants to produce the required balustrade and fabricated it all in our Silverdale workshop.

The 7.5km pathway winds its way around the beautiful Orewa Estuary and is a great place for the whole family to get out and enjoy the area together.  Distance markers are placed at 1km intervals from the Western Reserve. It’s a great place to walk, run, cycle and push a pram.

Hot dipped galvanised steel was used for the fabrication to ensure longevity in the harsh coastal environment.

The blue line indicates the walkway around the estuary.
